Parent Participation
We invite you to join us and get involved at El Verano! We encourage you to attend Back to School Night, Parent-Teacher Conferences and Open House. We hold weekly assemblies where we celebrate students' achievements, and invite all families to join us. We have lots of school events, such as socials, family literacy nights, and movie nights where we welcome families. Additionally, we work in collaboration with parents on committees to help guide our school-wide goals, share information, and get input.
School Site Council
The Site Council is composed of school staff and parents. The primary responsibility of Site Council is to work with the principal on such tasks as the Safety Plan and the Single Plan for Student Achievement (SPSA), which includes the budget, and all school programs. The SSC meets monthly and its members are elected by stakeholders.
English Language Advisory Committee (ELAC)
The English Language Advisory Council is a committee dedicated to the achievement of students who are English learners. This body makes recommendations, looks at data, provides insight into the needs of English learners and their families, and works in collaboration with the school to advance and advocate for the interests of students who are working towards proficiency in English. This committee is a sub-group of the District’s English Language Advisory Council.
El Verano Parent Teachers Organization (PTO)
Our El Verano PTO is a group of dedicated parents whose focus is to raise funds, create enrichment opportunities and facilitate joyful school experiences and events for our students and school community. We are very fortunate and grateful to have such an amazing group of parents.
Our PTO encourages all members of our school community to join, connect with other families, and create lasting relationships through participation in PTO. Be part of making El Verano the best it can be!
